OneCard has five value levers. Reward points are the only one with fixed, published rules, and they top out at 1%. The rest are offers set in the app, and on the right transaction they can pay far more. Use the calculator below with the offer rates your app shows, then read the stacking guide.
Enter your approximate monthly spend per category. We apply the 1X and 5X rules from the issuing banks' terms. Offers are set in the app and no document publishes their rates, so add the ones your app shows you below; left blank, they count as zero.
Each lever works independently. The big wins come from combining them. Here is a quick summary of each, with links to the full guides where the detail matters.
Base rate is 0.2% on everything eligible. Spend Rs. 750 or more in at least three categories in a calendar month and 5X unlocks: your top two categories by spend earn 1% instead. The multiplier applies retroactively to all eligible transactions that month.
Full rewards guideLocation-based offers at physical stores near you. Activate the offer in the app before you transact, and earn the rate the offer shows at offline restaurants, grocery stores, fuel pumps and more. Stacks with 5X rewards on eligible categories.
How Around You worksBuy gift vouchers through the OneCard app at the discount it shows on each voucher. The catalogue covers major online retailers (Amazon, Flipkart) and offline chains (Reliance Fresh, Croma, Vijay Sales, and many more). The purchase transaction may also earn standard reward points.
None of the five issuing banks' terms lists a fee on utility or BBPS bill payments. On four of the five, bill payments no longer earn reward points (since July or August 2026, depending on the bank), so bills are a lever only in what they do not cost.
Full fees breakdownDedicated discounts activated in the OneCard app for specific merchants, at the rate and cap the app shows, applied at checkout. These merchants also fall under reward-eligible categories, so 5X or 1X points apply on the discounted amount.
Not every lever applies to every transaction. The table below shows the best combination for each spending type and the resulting effective return.
| Transaction type | Levers that apply | Effective return |
|---|---|---|
| Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit or Zepto order | Merchant offer + 5X | offer rate + 1% |
| Amazon or Flipkart order | Merchant offer or gift voucher + 5X | offer rate + 1% |
| Offline restaurant or grocery | Around You + 5X | offer rate + 1% |
| Croma or Vijay Sales | Gift voucher + 5X on the voucher purchase | voucher discount + 1% |
| Fuel | Around You + surcharge waiver (no points) | offer rate + 1%, waiver capped monthly |
| Electricity or broadband bill | No fee in the banks' terms; no points at four of five banks | 0% |
All rows requiring 5X assume the unlock threshold has been met: Rs. 750 or more in at least three eligible categories that month. If 5X is not unlocked, replace the 1% figure with 0.2% in every row above. The offer rate is whatever your app shows that day; we do not quote one.
Five small habits that take less than ten minutes total and meaningfully increase your monthly return.
Unlock 5X every month: spend Rs. 750 or more in at least three eligible categories, and your top two earn 5X. Then add the offers your app shows: Around You for offline spends, gift vouchers, and merchant offers. We do not quote offer rates, because they are set in the app and no document publishes them. Keep rent and wallet payments off the card: they earn nothing and carry a fee.
Yes. For eligible offline transactions (dining, grocery, shopping), Around You cashback and 5X reward points both apply to the same transaction. They are credited separately but stack on the same spend.
It depends on the voucher and the day. The app shows the discount on each voucher; no OneCard document publishes the rates, so we do not quote one. Enter the discount you see in the calculator above to see what it is worth to you.
Offers in the app change, and the app shows each offer's merchant, rate and any cap before you pay. Activate an offer in the app, then pay at checkout as usual; the transaction still earns 5X or 1X reward points.
Spend Rs. 750 or more in at least three different eligible categories (Dining, Grocery, Shopping, Entertainment, Education, Travel; Bills no longer count on most OneCards) within the same calendar month. Once unlocked, 5X applies retroactively to all eligible transactions in your top two spending categories for that month.
Yes. Swiggy transactions fall under the Dining category, which is eligible for 5X if you have unlocked the multiplier for that month. If the app shows a Swiggy offer, activate it too; both apply to the same transaction.
None of the five issuing banks' terms lists a fee on utility or BBPS bill payments. Bills and utilities have earned no reward points on OneCards from Federal Bank, SBM, CSB and BOBCARD since July or August 2026; only Indian Bank's terms still include them.
Points top out at 1%: 5X, at OneCard's own example of Rs. 0.10 a point, and only on your top two categories; everything else earns 0.2%. Anything above that comes from offers, at whatever rate your app shows that day. The calculator above adds them up for your own spending.
